We are seeking a Senior Service Now Solutions Architect to lead the design, implementation, and governed adoption of the Common Service Data Model (CSDM) across the enterprise. This role will architect scalable, service‑centric models, align platform teams to out‑of‑the‑box standards, and enable cross‑module value realization across CMDB, ITSM, ITOM, SPM/APM, and SACM.

Pittsburgh, PA/Dallas, TX/Cleveland, OH/Birmingham, AL/Phoenix, AZ/Philadelphia, PA/Jacksonville, FL/Rocky Mount, NC - Hybrid 3 days onsite – 2 days remote

RTO in 2026 will be 5 days onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • CSDM & CMDB Architecture:
    Define and maintain the enterprise CSDM blueprint, provide prescriptive guidance for service modeling, and enforce configuration over customization.
  • Service Modeling & Mapping:
    Drive Service Mapping strategy to align Application Services and Technical CIs to CSDM.
  • Portfolio & Product Alignment (SPM/APM):
    Integrate SPM & APM data design with CSDM for portfolio analytics.
  • Data Governance & Quality:
    Define data ownership, stewardship, and governance processes; embed quality gates.
  • Integration & Compliance:
    Architect platform integrations for CMDB/CSDM data exchange and ensure compliance.
  • Technical Leadership & Enablement:
    Act as Design Authority, produce architecture artifacts, and mentor teams.
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years in enterprise architecture or platform engineering, with 5+ years implementing CSDM and CMDB at scale.
  • Proven leadership delivering OOB‑aligned Service Now solutions across ITSM, ITOM, SPM/APM, and SACM.
  • Expertise in Service Mapping, Discovery, CI class modeling, and quality automation.
  • Strong integration background (REST/SOAP, Integration Hub), data modeling, and pipeline governance.
Preferred Certifications
  • Service Now CSA and CIS certifications (ITSM, SPM/APM, ITOM, CMDB/Discovery)
  • CAD (Certified Application Developer)
  • ITIL v4 Foundation
Screening Questions
  • Walk us through modeling a Business Service → Service Offering → Application Service per CSDM.
  • How would you enforce configuration‑over‑customization and prevent data drifting across crews?
  • Describe your approach to mapping complex, multi‑tier applications and aligning them to CSDM.
  • Explain how APM business applications relate to application services and capabilities in CSDM.
Summary
  • This role acts as a member of a delivery team, supporting both new development/project‑based efforts and production support, and is considered the highest‑level domain technology expert. Responsibilities include the assessment of business requirements; collection, identification, and approval of technical specifications; and the subsequent development of viable technology solutions (including business applications, LOB applications, workflow systems, purchased applications, developed applications, and application integrations).
  • This role will envision and create solutions that meet business requirements; model infrastructure components and their integration points; prove design feasibility; create required design artifacts to deliver and maintain infrastructure; guide solutions through to completion; and ensure solutions are implemented and supported in production.
  • The role partners with the Enterprise Architecture team to ensure new technology solutions align with architectural standards for optimal access and usefulness, leverage existing technologies, and consider enterprise‑wide impacts on people, process, and technology. The role also assists in near‑ and mid‑term roadmap creation to address gaps and move the domain toward the future‑state architecture in support of business growth and innovation.

  • Establish domain‑specific standards, near/mid‑term strategy, and roadmaps (0–18 months) in adherence to Enterprise standards, strategy, and roadmaps; provide direction on implementation and execution.
  • Assist in creating the vision for future‑state technologies and architecture and participate in setting Enterprise standards and mid/long‑term strategy/roadmaps (18–60 months), acting as a domain subject matter expert.
