Information System Security Engineer-EN – CAE (Arlington, TX)

The Defense & Security business unit helps military customers maintain mission readiness. This role provides technical expertise and supports CAE programs and cybersecurity staff on‑site in Arlington, TX.
Responsibilities- Assist in preparing, maintaining, and implementing SSPs for government approval.
- Provide technical support to the ISSM and ISSO.
- Participate in update/management of SCTM.
- Author and update the Risk Assessment Report (RAR), Program Protection Implementation Plan (PPIP), and Security Assessment Plan/Procedures.
- Create and update System Diagrams, Data Flow Diagrams, Boundary diagrams, Ports Protocols, Services, and Sanitization Plans.
- Assist in POA&M Management and in gathering COVs/LOVs.
- Facilitate Software/Hardware Approvals; manage technical security controls such as firewalls, data protection, patching, encryption, certificates, vulnerability scanning (ACAS/SCAP/E‑STIG), and continuous monitoring.
- Participate in security documentation reviews, design reviews, program meetings, and IPT meetings.
- Assist in compliance monitoring, evaluate and update STIG Checklists, and support proposal cost and technical volumes.
- Maintain high‑level system administration skills under Windows and Linux.
- Perform system log auditing/analysis and manage configuration and version control.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of experience implementing DoD security requirements and contractor/government information security.
- IAM Level II certification (CAP, CASP+CE, CISM, CISSP (or Associate), GSLC, or CCISO).
- Experience with NIST SP 800‑37, NIST SP 800‑53 Rev. 5, and eMASS documentation.
- Eligibility for a DoD Personal Security Clearance at Top Secret level (or current clearance).
- Knowledge of NISPOM, DoD security directives, and related regulations.
- Experience with Windows, Linux, UNIX platforms; military service or familiarity with military environments preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with senior military and executive personnel.
- Detail oriented, analytical, and capable of working with minimal supervision.
- Experience with classified DoD networks and ATO maintenance.
- Current IAM certification required.
- Only U.S. citizens eligible.
- System administration of Windows and Linux (deployment, configuration, patching, scanning, scripting).
- Documentation of SSPs and work instructions; sustainment of security artifacts.
Comply with all company security and data protection policies. Properly mark, handle, and store all information. Do not divulge information out of company without authorization. Eligible for DoD clearance.
Work Environment- Office and manufacturing facility.
- Overtime, on and off‑shifts as required.
- 24/7 on‑call for issue resolution.
- Regular sitting, talking, and listening in meetings and on telephone.
- Manual dexterity to operate computers and standard office equipment.
- Support rack‑mounted equipment up to 7 feet off the ground.
