Our client is a leading provider of data center solutions with facilities across the United States. They deliver mission-critical infrastructure and services that power some of the world’s most innovative businesses. With operations nationwide, they are expanding their team at the Dallas-Fort Worth branch and are seeking a skilled Data Center Technician to support ongoing growth.

Overview

As a Data Center Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining the smooth operation of a state-of-the-art data center. Working as part of a collaborative technical team, you’ll be responsible for supporting hardware, network equipment, and facility infrastructure to ensure maximum reliability and uptime.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot servers, networking equipment, and structured cabling.
  • Perform installations, hardware replacements, and upgrades.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on critical systems and infrastructure.
  • Assist in incident response, root cause analysis, and resolution to reduce downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with operational procedures, security standards, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the client’s nationwide data center network.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Previous hands-on experience in a data center environment
  • Networking: Intermediate knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing/switching).
  • Hardware: Familiarity with server builds, racking/stacking, cabling, and hardware troubleshooting (tickr).
  • Systems: Understanding of Windows/Linux operating systems at an administrator level.
  • Monitoring Tools: Exposure to DCIM tools, ticketing systems, or monitoring platforms (e.g., Nagios, Solar Winds, Service Now).
  • Cabling: Experience with fiber optics, copper cabling, labeling, and patch panel management.
  • Power & Cooling: Awareness of data center environment basics (UPS systems, CRAC units, power distribution).
  • Certifications (desirable, not essential): CompTIA A+, Network+, Server+, CCNA, or similar.
  • Flexible and reliable to work rotating day/night shifts/weekend.
  • Physically able to lift and install equipment (up to 50 lbs).
