The annual salary for this position ranges from $69,700 to $76,125. The final offer will be commensurate with the candidate’s relevant experience and qualifications.

Purpose of Position

The Application Support Analyst leads a technology team through data analysis, interpretation, and immigration reporting for a growing international community with approximately 5,000 international students from more than 100 countries.

Essential Functions
  • Prepares detailed data analysis utilizing SAS Reporting and Sunapsis Reporting tools.
  • Organizes and presents immigration-based information, analysis, results, and interpretations clearly and effectively.
  • Evaluates and responds to data requests originating from within and outside the institution.
  • Collaborates internally to improve the accuracy of data entered and stored in immigration applications.
  • Monitors and communicates data issues to superiors.
  • Collaborates with the Office of Information Technology (OIT) to troubleshoot issues related to the Sunapsis application, server, and database.
  • Serves as a liaison between application functional users and Office of Information Technology teams, collaborating with administrative staff, multiple vendors, and IT service providers.
  • Continuously performs statistical analysis on application usage.
  • Trains and consults with users regarding their interface with the Student Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS).
  • Reviews technical specifications of future phases of SEVIS and Sunapsis, upgrades office technologies, and makes related recommendations.
  • Manages the Office of International Education Technology Team; reviews the team’s progress on tasks regularly, prioritizes tasks, escalates issues and risks appropriately to resolve problems, and reduces project risk.
  • Maintains knowledge of standards and best practices for information systems, user documentation, project management, web management, and SEVIS compliance.
  • Oversees the department website and provides support for content management.
  • Assesses current needs and future areas for improvement of the website.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, information systems, statistics, or a related discipline and two (2) years of experience in data analysis and reporting or a related area.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with SAS reporting and/or statistical analytics, preferably in a higher education environment.
  • Experience with SEVIS and SEVIS batch processing, supporting large relational databases, designing websites, and managing international student records software.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical projects and collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to prepare and present reports to serve a variety of audiences at various levels of technical ability.
  • Ability to display attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational, teamwork, problem-solving, and communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to multitask, organize data, conduct research, and communicate technical details to users.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze the needs of the office to design business processes that streamline and improve the collection and integrity of student data.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Working knowledge of Sunapsis and the People Soft records management system is preferred.
  • Knowledge of F-1 student regulations is preferred.
Work Schedule
  • Monday through Friday; 8:00am through 5:00pm.
Working Conditions
  • May work around standard office conditions.
  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.
