Job Description

The custodian will provide cleaning services for college facilities and ensure a clean, professional appearance of campus buildings is maintained at all times.

Job Duties

• Work under the direction of immediate Supervisor and perform all duties as assigned.
• Perform all duties assigned in a timely manner.
• Accountable for all tools, equipment, and supplies issued.
• Perform all duties observing safety procedures and utilizing proper equipment (safety glasses, gloves, caution tape/tags, wet floor signs, etc.)
• Responsible for the appearance and cleanliness of campus facilities.
• Assist with the movement of equipment and furniture as well as setup and teardown for campus functions.
• Responsible for adhering to established procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Work with other personnel as assigned.
• Work on weekends, holidays, evening/nights, and all other hours as required.
• Must be able to climb on ladders, work in confined spaces, and complete other physically demanding duties.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.

Mandatory Qualifications

• M1 – High School Diploma or High School Equivalency
• M2 – Valid Driver’s license which must remain in good standing while employed
• M3 – Custodial experience
• M4 – Ability to communicate effectively with college personnel and students

Desirable Qualifications

• D1 – Experience using a floor machine, buffer or extractor
• D2 – Three or more years of custodial experience
• D3 – Custodial experience in an educational setting
• D4 – Computer Experience
