Press Assistant

About the Position

We are looking for a Press Assistant to support our Press Department on all shifts. The position is entry level and can advance into skilled roles.

• Uniformly jog and hand‑palletize printed products off the press equipment
• Stage stacker equipment to meet current job requirements
• Pack boxes according to load tickets and place them in appropriate locations for shipping
• Check printed product for quality defects
• Assist press team members during make‑ready with wiping down blankets, changing ink, performing clean‑up on/around the press, mounting plates/blankets, etc.
• Keep press areas clean and stocked with necessary supplies
• Perform other duties as assigned

• High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate
• 1–3 years of previous manufacturing/office experience preferred
• Full comprehension of reading work instructions and business memos
• Effective communication skills at all levels within the organization
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, measurements) and critical thinking to solve practical problems
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• Ability to work effectively in stressful situations and meet stringent deadlines
• Organized and able to plan, prioritise and follow through on projects with minimal supervision
• Basic computer skills

• Use proper body mechanics with pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, squatting, kneeling, and bending
• Push/pull and lift up to 50 lbs
• Fine motor hand and arm movement, manual dexterity and coordination
• Near visual acuity
• Work around and operate departmental equipment
• Access and navigate each department in the facility
• Function in a professional manner under stressful circumstances

The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and hazardous materials and works near moving mechanical parts.
