Polycoat Products is currently seeking a QC Technician to join our team in Arlington, TX. Reporting to the R&D Manager, this role will collaborate closely with chemists and engineers within the Polyester and Polyurethane QC team in Arlington.
Responsibilities- Operate independently in QC laboratory to support the Manager in polyester production plant unit.
- Execute day-to-day lab tasks under supervision, following instructions provided by the supervisor.
- Adhere to existing work routines as directed by the supervisor, promptly identifying and reporting any delays.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while fostering a collaborative attitude.
- Prepare samples for testing according to specified methods or requests per ASTM. Must be capable of lifting approximately 50 lbs.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of routine tasks within the polyurethane and polyester R&D lab.
- Operate analytical equipment safely and in accordance with Polycoat Products standards.
- Practice good Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) protocols.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiently use computers and software applications for data collection, storage, and analysis (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, TEAMS).
- Exhibit critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Must be able to work during night shifts.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident only (VISA sponsorship is not available)
- Fundamental understanding and expertise in chemical laboratory practices and safety
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills with focus on precision and accurate record‑keeping
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, TEAMS)
- Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently
Preferred:
- Minimum 2 years of proven experience performing routine tasks in testing and sample preparation.
- Experience with in a chemical QC laboratory environment is plus.
