Inventory Control Supervisor

JOB TITLE: Inventory Control Supervisor

DEPARTMENT: Stores

REPORTING TO: Supply Chain Manager

Primary Function Of Position

Lead and inspire the Stores team to execute accurate, efficient, and timely material handling operations across receiving, stocking, kitting, shipping, and inventory control. Enforce industry best practices, continuous improvement through 6S and Lean principles, and drive a high‑performance, safety‑focused culture that supports manufacturing excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Lead by example to foster a culture of integrity, ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • Inspire and mentor team members to achieve performance excellence.
  • Ensure the department is staffed with highly motivated and capable individuals.
  • Develop and implement structured onboarding, cross‑training, and performance development plans.
  • Recognize team achievements and implement accountability practices aligned with company values.
  • Maintain 98%+ inventory accuracy across Finished Goods, Subassemblies, Components, and Consignment.
  • Own daily cycle‑counting processes with root‑cause analysis, and annual inventory planning and execution.
  • Enforce precise inventory transaction standards: shipping, receiving, kitting, requisition fulfillment, stock purges, NCM, and material transfers.
  • Ensure alignment of physical inventory with Macola ERP system data.
  • Partner with the Master Scheduler to ensure uninterrupted material supply to manufacturing.
  • Drive timely processing of kits, returns (to stock or supplier/customer), and shipping activities.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs to reduce cycle times and eliminate bottlenecks.
  • Implement visual management tools and dashboards to track material flow efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive work instructions for all Stores operations.
  • Standardize material storage and labeling systems to improve accessibility and reduce errors.
  • Drive equipment and process improvement plans that enable scalability and throughput.
  • Lead 6S initiatives (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, Safety) to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
  • Facilitate weekly SQCD (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery) and 6S meetings to identify and drive key improvement projects.
  • Apply Lean/Six Sigma tools to eliminate waste, reduce errors, and improve cycle times.
  • Ensure full compliance with safety standards and provide regular safety training.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and proactively address risks or unsafe behaviors.
  • Ensure all activities adhere to the Libra Quality Manual and regulatory requirements.
  • Accurately coordinate product movement, including internal routing and van logistics.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll inputs for department personnel.
  • Manage Stores equipment and materials handling tools for peak efficiency.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma.
  • Proven experience in electronic manufacturing or related inventory/stores operations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with a focus on team engagement.
  • Hands‑on experience with inventory accuracy programs and ERP systems (Macola preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience developing new inventory processes to reduce cycle time.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
Work Environment
  • This position will work in both front and shop environments.
  • In the shop, you will be exposed to airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, machines, and material handling vehicles. PPE is required in this shop area.
Physical Requirements
  • The employee must have good hearing and sight.
  • Walk the shop floor and lift up to 20 pounds.
