Job Description Job Summary

The Production and Material Planner is responsible for coordinating and optimizing production schedules and ensuring materials are available to meet production demands. This role balances production capacity, inventory levels, and supplier lead times to ensure seamless production flow, reduce downtime, and meet customer delivery expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain production schedules, aligning with demand forecasts and production capacity to optimize efficiency.
  • Forecast material requirements based on production plans and place orders to maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Monitor inventory levels, track stock usage, and adjust reorder points to prevent shortages and minimize excess stock.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to confirm order quantities, delivery schedules, and manage lead times.
  • Analyze production and inventory data, generate reports, and provide insights for continuous improvement and cost‑saving opportunities.
  • Work closely with production, procurement, and warehouse teams to resolve issues and align on production goals.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in production planning, material planning, or inventory management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel, strong analytical and organizational skills, and effective communication abilities.
  • Detail‑oriented with strong problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines.
  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and inventory optimization.
