Talent Manager
The Air & Space Forces Association, an independent, non-profit organization located in Pentagon City, Virginia, seeks an executive leader with a passion for the AFA mission. VP, Philanthropy will be essential in driving financial sustainability through strategic planning, relationship building, and effective execution of fundraising initiatives that align with the organization’s mission and goals. The successful candidate will create, develop, implement, and administer fundraising programs across various constituencies, including individuals, corporations, foundations, and governments.
A relationship builder who is comfortable working with high-level individuals and making subsequent six and seven-figure asks.
- Develop and execute a strategic fundraising plan that aligns with AFA’s mission and goals
- Lead a team of development professionals to effectively implement fundraising strategies
- Cultivate relationships with major donors, foundations, corporations, and other key stakeholders
- Identify new funding opportunities and develop creative approaches to secure philanthropic support
- Oversee all aspects of donor stewardship, including gift processing, acknowledgments, and reporting
- Collaborate with senior leadership to set fundraising goals and track progress towards meeting objectives
- Manage the budget for the department and ensure financial targets are met
- Experience using and managing donor pipelines through CRMS
- Monitor fundraising performance metrics and make data-driven decisions to optimize revenue generation
- Represent the organization at events, conferences, and other networking opportunities to promote philanthropic partnerships
A CFRE Certification and extensive, demonstrated experience fundraising for a nonprofit are required. Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business administration, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred. Minimum of 10 years of experience in fundraising or development roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership position securing six and seven-figure gifts/donations. Knowledge of the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Space Force, and their adjacent industries is preferred.
