Overview
This is an extraordinary volunteer opportunity for an individual passionate about Noggin Educational Foundation's mission and with a track record of leadership. Selected Board Members will have achieved leadership stature in business, education, philanthropy, or the nonprofit sector. The Board supports the foundation's work and provides mission-based leadership and strategic governance. While Noggin's Executive Director leads day-to-day operations, the Board-Director relationship is a partnership, and the appropriate involvement of the Board as needed is both critical and expected.
Open Board Seats:
As a partner to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Executive Director, and other Board members, the Board Chair is the senior volunteer of Noggin Educational Foundation and will provide leadership to the organization as it grows to meet long-term goals. The Board Chair will play a key role in supporting and sustaining the work of Noggin Educational Foundation. He or she is responsible for enthusiastic leadership in undertaking all initiatives and responsibilities given to the Board.
This role is a volunteer position focused on governance, leadership, and strategic direction aligned with Noggin’s mission to close the achievement gap for economically disadvantaged students.
Responsibilities- The Program Committee assesses the effectiveness of NEF programs, monitors educational trends and the unique needs of our demographic, recommends program modifications, and supports program implementation. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of five years of experience in education administration, possess strategic thinking skills, and excel in project management.
- The Board Chair collaborates closely with the CEO and other committees and leads efforts to recruit, engage, and retain volunteers to support the organization's mission. This role is crucial in ensuring a positive and meaningful experience for volunteers while maximizing their contributions to our success.
- The Marketing Committee develops and implements strategies to increase brand awareness and image for fundraising and increased volunteer and student participation. Candidates for the marketing board seat must have at least 10 years of experience developing corporate or nonprofit marketing campaigns.
- The Community Partnership Committee identifies and establishes strategic partnerships that support our mission and help meet the organization's goals. This role involves developing strategic collaborations, securing sponsor ships and in-kind donations, and expanding the organization’s reach. The ideal candidate will have relevant connections in the Southwest Dallas community (Arlington, Mansfield, Grand Prairie, Desoto, Duncanville, Cedar Hill, and Red Oak).
