Millwood’s caring, multidisciplinary staff has successfully provided inpatient and outpatient mental health and chemical dependency care to children, adolescents, adults, and senior adults since 1971. Position Summary

The Staff Nurse (R.N.) is a registered professional nurse who prescribes, coordinates, and evaluates patient care through collaboration with health team members, following the nursing process and the standards of care and practice.

Typical Work Hours

12‑hour shifts (7 p.m.–7 a.m.) – Any unit (KIDS, PICU, ADULT/GERO, or SUD).

Orientation Availability

Must be available to attend the full hospital and departmental orientations:
Week 1: M‑F 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
Week 2: M & Tu 9 a.m.–5 p.m.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Education:

    Graduate from an accredited professional nursing program required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience:

    Minimum of 2 years in a psychiatric health‑care facility preferred.
  • Licensure:
    Currently licensed to practice by the Texas State Board of Nursing.
  • Additional Requirements:

    CPR certification and training in appropriate use of seclusion and restraint within 30 days of employment; successful completion of CPI training and Service Excellence Training within 90 days of employment. Certifications may be obtained during new hire orientation.
