American Traveler is hiring a Neuro Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring a TX or compact RN license and stroke care experience.

• 24-bed Neuro Med/Surg unit within a hospital setting
• Day shift staffed with 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, 2 techs, and 1 HUC; night shift staffed with 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, and 2 techs
• Patient ratio of 6:1
• Uses Sara Steady equipment
• Charts in Meditech EMR
• Performs EEGs, EKGs, and bladder scanning procedures
• Night shift schedule, 7P-7A, Friday/Saturday/Sunday
• On-call rotation required
• No floating required

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• BSN required
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Neuro Med/Surg specialty
• Stroke specialty experience preferred
• Management experience of 3+ years preferred
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months

• Provide direct patient care to neurological and med/surg patients, including stroke population
• Participate in stroke education programs available on the unit
• Best suited for team-oriented, hardworking nurses
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered
