DescriptionA full-time postdoctoral position is available immediately in the Nam group in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Texas at Arlington, TX (https://(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). and Google scholar profile: ).
NIH-funded projects in our group focus on the development of hybrid QM/MM and free energy simulation methods and their application to understand the functional mechanisms of kinase catalysis, conformational dynamics and allostery, using CHARMM, NAMD and other computational programs.
Ideal candidates should be creative, independent and highly motivated individuals, and work on the development and application of accelerated QM/MM and various molecular simulation approaches. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Physics, or related field. A solid background in computational/theoretical chemistry (e.g., molecular simulations, statistical mechanisms and electronic structure theory) and computer programming, including Fortran, MPI, OpenMP and GPU parallel programming, are essential.
Interested candidates should send (1) an updated CV with the complete list of publications, (2) a cover letter describing research experience, interests and goals, and (3) the contact information of three reference persons, directly to Kwangho Nam (kwangho.nam ).
