Unarmed Retail Security Officer

Overview

Marksman Security is hiring an Unarmed Security Officer in an active and engaging atmosphere. This job entails engaging with the public and responding to calls for service in public right of way. You will be working with a team supported by a leadership team that sets clear expectations and will help you to succeed and grow. Applicants need to be able and willing to work weekends, evenings and holidays, if needed.

Must have a current valid Texas Level II Guard License. Be able and willing to conduct extended foot patrols of the district area up to six hours. Must have a clean driving record.

• Conduct vehicle and foot patrols of areas in the public right of way to identify potential safety and security risks
• Maintain a visible presence and engage in professional public interactions
• Document all interactions in a clear and concise written report, ensuring the accuracy and timely submission of required documentation
• Communicate and pass on all pertinent information to fellow team members, other safety teams, and the client
• Monitor and/or detect any suspicious behavior to assist in the prevention of vandalism, theft and other criminal activity
• Warn violators of infractions (e.g., loitering, smoking, possession of prohibited items)
• Respond to calls of distress, alarms and/or emergencies by contacting local first responders
• Identify and report any safety or security concerns in a timely manner
• Ensure all rules/regulations are being enforced and followed
• Other duties to be determined by management

• Must be at least 21 years of age or older
• High school degree or equivalent
• Valid state driver’s license
• Valid Texas Level II Guard License
• Professional demeanor and appearance
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Minimum of one year of customer service experience
• Minimum of one year of security experience
• Must be able to pass pre-employment screening (background and drug)
• Physical ability to perform duties (e.g., extended standing, walking, kneeling, climbing stairs)
