Summary

This is a hands‑on technical software engineering position on the Integration Specialists (IS) team. The successful candidate will support integration and configuration of computational system architecture and system software for real‑time simulation applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify process and product improvements and implement agreed changes.
  • Develop units through algorithms/techniques, documenting own work with test reports and functional specifications for small or medium complexity systems.
  • Participate in code reviews, identify risks and escalation issues when necessary.
  • Provide timely information to the project leader to assist with detailed project planning and coordination using project management methods and tools.
  • Act as a resource for technical staff.
  • Develop professional expertise, demonstrating conceptual knowledge and principles of your discipline. Receive moderate guidance and direction.
  • Requirement: professional degree in a single discipline with typically 3 years of related experience.
Define New Simulation Models and Interfaces
  • Design, integrate and test flight simulator architectures, networks, software interfaces, and software infrastructures.
  • Show strong analysis and problem‑solving skills.
  • Support existing and create new software build environments.
  • Knowledge of CMake, self‑hosted Git/Bit Bucket is useful.
  • Install and configure operating systems for flight simulators.
  • Troubleshoot issues with flight simulator equipment and interfaces.
  • Manage Linux and Windows platforms and applications.
Develop Solutions to Increase Automation

Communicate with an understanding and consideration of varied perspectives and technical knowledge specialties.

Show the ability to carry tasks through to completion with only general technical direction.

Travel as needed to maintain existing solutions at customer sites (up to 50% travel).

Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline.
  • 5‑10 years of direct software development experience post‑degree (C preferred). 4‑7 years with a Master’s degree.
  • Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.
  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn virtualization solutions (VMware).
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn containerized development/delivery (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes).
  • Software development and debugging in

    C.
  • Previous simulation system experience.
  • Prefer 7 years of experience using Linux development environment.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Configure operating systems on Linux and Windows machines.
  • Management of a software baseline including branching, merging, building, maintaining and installing software.
  • High‑level knowledge concerning compiling and linker infrastructure (Microsoft Visual Studio, GNU Compiler Collection, CMake).
