Accounting Temp II

We are seeking a detail-oriented interim Accountant to join our client, located in Arlington, VA. The Accountant will play a key role in supporting day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to various accounting functions in a fast-paced environment, especially for those entering the accounting profession.

Hybrid with 2 days in office (Arlington, VA).

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring proper recording of transactions.
• Assist with the preparation of journal entries for month-end and year-end close processes.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoicing, payments, and collections.
• Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions.
• Assist with payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate disbursements.
• Working with large data sets on Excel.

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 1-2 years of experience in accounting or finance (internships may be considered).
• Knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (experience with Quick Books, SAP, or other ERP systems is a plus).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
