The Opportunity

The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in revenue accounting, Accounts Receivable leadership, and intercompany processes across a multi-entity structure. This position is a backfill and offers immediate impact, visibility, and the opportunity to mentor and elevate a growing AR function.

This role reports directly to the Assistant Controller and partners closely with Financial Reporting and other accounting leaders.

How You Will Contribute Revenue Accounting

• Oversee revenue recognition for contributions, pledges, and earned revenue in accordance with US GAAP and nonprofit standards
• Review and approve complex transactions under ASC 606 and ASC 958
• Maintain and enhance revenue accounting policies and documentation
• Partner with Financial Reporting to ensure accurate reconciliations and disclosures

Accounts Receivable Leadership

• Provide leadership and mentorship to the AR team, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing, cash application, and pledge tracking
• Design and implement scalable AR processes, including invoicing and collections
• Oversee validation of donor documentation and donor-related accounting
• Drive automation and efficiency improvements within AR operations
• Help elevate the technical capabilities of the AR team and foster a culture of accuracy and accountability

Intercompany Accounting

• Own the intercompany invoicing process across approximately 16 entities
• Perform monthly intercompany reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
  
  Ensure compliance and proper documentation for all intercompany transactions

Controls, Compliance & Audit

• Maintain strong internal controls over revenue, receivables, and intercompany activity
• Prepare audit schedules and act as a key liaison with external auditors
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements

Team Development

• Mentor and develop AR staff with a focus on technical growth and continuous improvement
• Promote collaboration, ownership, and proactive problem‑solving across teams

What You Will Bring

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  , including revenue recognition and AR, with 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory capacity
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP
  , including ASC 606 and ASC 958
• Experience with intercompany accounting and reconciliations
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, analysis)
• Experience with modern accounting systems (e.g.,
  Sage Intacct
  , Salesforce, Concur, Flo Qast)
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
