Lease Accountant - Part Time

Kforce has a client in Arlington, VA that is seeking a part time Lease Accountant to provide interim support for a large, multi-location lease portfolio. This part-time consultant will manage recurring rent activity, maintain lease schedules, review lease terms, and support related reconciliations. The ideal candidate has hands‑on lease or rent accounting experience and can work independently with minimal training.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain lease records and monthly rent schedules for a high-volume portfolio
• Review landlord statements, code charges, and process rent payments
• Interpret lease terms related to base rent, common area maintenance, property taxes, escalations, and other recurring charges
• Manage landlord and vendor payment portals, including setup when needed
• Support prepaid rent, accrued rent, clearing account, and other lease‑related reconciliations
• Research invoice or lease discrepancies and escalates findings to the accounting team
• Maintain accurate supporting documentation and rent‑related communications

• Direct lease administration or rent accounting experience
• Experience interpreting leases and maintaining rent schedules
• Experience supporting a high-volume or multi-location lease portfolio
• Intermediate Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
• Experience with an ERP system and landlord/vendor payment portals
• Strong organization, accuracy, and ability to work independently

• Net Suite experience
• Property or real estate accounting background
• ASC 842 exposure
• Experience with lease-related balance sheet reconciliations

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
