Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support a client engagement in the metro DC area. This is a Contract position suited for a detail-oriented accountant with a strong background in government contracting and hands-on expertise with Deltek Costpoint. The ideal candidate will contribute to core accounting operations, help maintain accurate financial records, and support timely reporting in a fast-paced project environment.

Responsibilities:
• Lead monthly close activities by preparing and reviewing financial data to ensure deadlines are met accurately.
• Record and post journal entries while maintaining the integrity of the general ledger.
• Perform detailed reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and resolve variances in a timely manner.
• Complete bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to maintain accurate cash reporting.
• Support billing processes related to government contracts, ensuring compliance with client and contract requirements.
• Use Deltek Costpoint to manage accounting transactions, reporting, and project-related financial activity.
• Review accounting records for accuracy and consistency across multiple financial areas.
• Partner with stakeholders to address accounting issues and provide support for project-based financial needs.
