Hanwha Defense USA (HDUSA) develops and supplies advanced ground, sea, and munitions systems to strengthen the capabilities of U.S. and allied forces. As a U.S.
-based defense company with the strength of a world-class global parent, HDUSA is in a period of rapid growth across shipbuilding, munitions, and ground combat systems, and is investing in the leaders who will run these businesses in the decade ahead.
The HDUSA Future Leadership Program (FLP) is a general management program designed to develop the next generation of HDUSA business leaders. Rotation assignments are individually tailored: each candidate’s rotation plan is designed around their background, strengths, and development areas identified through the selection process, drawing on functions such as Strategy & Corporate Planning, Business Development, Finance, Program Management, and Operations / Supply Chain.
Candidates serve as individual contributors, owning high‑impact projects and deliverables in every rotation, with executive sponsorship throughout the program. Select people may be offered a rotation at the global parent company’s headquarters in Korea, subject to business needs and applicable security requirements. Upon successful completion of the program, candidates are placed into a permanent role aligned with business needs and demonstrated strengths.
- Lead or co‑lead high‑priority, cross‑functional projects in each rotation, with defined deliverables and executive‑level readouts.
- Build financial models, business cases, and investment analyses supporting growth initiatives, capital projects, and corporate development efforts.
- Support capture and business development activities, including market assessments, competitive analysis, and customer engagement planning for U.S. Government programs.
- Support program execution by tracking cost, schedule, and performance, surfacing risks early, and recommending mitigations.
- Work on‑site with manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams to understand production realities and identify operational improvements.
- Prepare executive‑level materials for leadership reviews, board meetings, and strategy sessions.
- Collaborate across HDUSA business units and sites, and with global parent company counterparts, within applicable security and compliance frameworks.
- Present rotation outcomes and recommendations to the HDUSA senior leadership team at the end of each assignment.
- Bachelor’s degree required. Candidates typically bring one or more of the following: an MBA or other relevant graduate degree completed within the past three (3) years; 5+ years of professional experience in defense, aerospace, manufacturing, consulting, or finance; or service as a commissioned or non‑commissioned officer in the U.S. Armed Forces.
- Demonstrated leadership, with a record of owning outcomes, leading teams, or driving initiatives.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills; able to structure ambiguous problems and drive them to closure.
- Rotations and post‑program placements may involve access to classified information. Candidates must therefore be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. SECRET security clearance; U.S. citizenship is a requirement for clearance eligibility.
- Willingness to relocate for rotations across HDUSA sites; openness to a potential short‑term assignment in Korea is a plus.
- Veterans and transitioning service members…
