Construction/Project Manager at MBP
OverviewMBP seeks experienced design and construction leaders with 12+ years of combined education and/or experience. Candidates will support the growth of medium‑ to large‑scale projects in education (higher‑ed and K‑12), healthcare, laboratory, data center, and federal or local government facilities within the Washington, DC metropolitan area. The role requires progressive career development and proven expertise in construction management, project management, engineering design, or related fields.
Responsibilities- Provide pre‑construction and on‑site owner representation for medium‑ to large‑scale construction projects.
- Manage cost, schedule, and quality on behalf of the client/owner.
- Review project schedules, track progress, and prepare or review meeting minutes.
- Monitor submittal workflow, track and expedite critical submittals, and resolve RFIs with contractors.
- Perform site walks to observe and document construction progress.
- Provide quality management, including QA inspections and performance oversight.
- Prepare daily field reports and document issues until resolution.
- Review contractor monthly payment applications and change order proposals; prepare independent estimates and negotiate changes.
- Coordinate third‑party owner contractors and punchlist acceptance with designer and stakeholders.
- Verify completion of closeout requirements: owner training, O&M manuals, warranties, and stock materials.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management (experience may offset).
- Preferred certifications:
Professional Engineer (PE), Construction Management Certification (CCM), Project Management Professional (PMP), or Construction Quality Management (CQM). - Strong knowledge of construction principles, cost estimating, contract administration, scheduling, QA, and OSHA 10/30 certification (or obtain within 3 months of hire).
- Experience with Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, SharePoint, BIM platforms (Revit, Navisworks, Autodesk 360), and Blue Beam.
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, crisis management, and ability to translate technical documents.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments, and work outdoors in various weather conditions (climb ladders, operate ladders, work at heights).
Full‑time, non‑supervisory role, senior level. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
