Location: Crystal City, VA and Greater DMV Area

Hours: Monday through Friday, an 8‑hour shift, between 7:30 am – 6:00 pm

Full Wage Range: $21.59 – $25.70 per hour

Northwest Center is hiring a Corporate Receptionist to work on‑site at the Amazon HQ2 campuses, providing exceptional customer service to visitors, employees and guests via email, phone and in person. In this role you will greet and check in guests, distribute badges, manage visitor escort and support various administrative projects. You will be the first point of contact for many of our visitors and employees and will create a memorable, customer‑centric experience at every interaction.

What You Will Do
  • Open, close, and provide support for service locations, keeping the lobby clean and organized
  • Greet all employees and visitors warmly, professionally and courteously
  • Issue visitor badges, ascertain purpose of visit, and notify the appropriate person
  • Offer services such as stowing luggage, issuing loaner badges, and making transportation reservations
  • Assist Amazon’s recruiting department with NDA issuance and collection
  • Direct new hires and temporary employees to the Security Badge Office for employee badging
  • Answer incoming calls, determine caller needs, and transfer to the appropriate person or department
  • Subscribe to reception email lists and respond to all email in a timely manner
  • Maintain customer posters and hang them appropriately throughout all buildings
  • Manage LCD projector distribution, monitor reservation requests, and update Outlook calendars with status
  • Distribute assets for Amazon employees (keys, access cards, parking items) and maintain associated logs
  • Distribute Amazon paychecks and verify signatures on the paycheck log
  • Maintain inventory of reception forms and supplies, reporting to supervisor when reorders are needed
  • Assist employees with catering deliveries, including cart usage and carrying items to meetings
  • Create remedy tickets for facility issues and coordinate with facilities teams
  • Call security as needed for assistance and follow escalation procedures
Banana Stand Addendum
  • Assist with daily set‑up and/or tear‑down of the banana stand, including occasional decorations
  • Unload bananas from boxes into crates, keep the stand full, and remove bruised or damaged bananas
  • Track daily metrics in tracking software and respond to comments, general inquiries and public response
What You Are
  • Two (2+) years of experience in customer service, call center, or administrative support
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Strong communication skills and ability to effectively deescalate dissatisfied customers
  • Strong conflict resolution, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and follow Northwest Center (NWC) and Amazon’s policies and procedures
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
  • Frequently carry and lift a backpack with a laptop and other supplies, up to 50 pounds
  • Move consistently within a 1.5 mile radius as required
  • Work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including occasional early arrivals, late departures, evenings and weekends
  • Work in a dog‑friendly environment with over 1,000 dogs on campus; candidates with dog allergies or aversion to dogs may not be the best fit
