  June 26-27, 30 and July 1-3 (3rd is ½ day)

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with the Summer Administrative team on transportation, meals, classroom space, and schedule of events.
• Manage student arrival and dismissal, ensuring correct bus assignments for internships and community-based instruction.
• Support student needs, including behavioral management, medical needs, and field trip forms.
• Coordinate cafeteria scheduling for breakfast and lunch.
• Order, distribute, and inventory materials.
• Support teachers with program activities.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Experience teaching independent living and work skills to students with disabilities in a community-based setting.
• Virginia license in special education.
• Knowledge of high school students' academic, social, and emotional needs.
• Understanding of best practices for teaching students with disabilities.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Availability to work the week prior to ESY and throughout ESY.

Salary: $36.68 per hour (or higher for APS employees), $49.29 for retired APS teachers, paid hourly.

Note:

Summer employment hours are not included in VRS retirement contributions.
