AB Staffing is looking for experienced Special Education Teachers for the upcoming 2025/2026 school year.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education or related field from an accredited college or university
• Virginia Teaching Certification through the Virginia Department of Education
• Proficiency in the subject area; experience with case management, paperwork, compliance, and IEPs
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations and policies affecting special education
• At least one year of teaching experience with students with disabilities, including behavior disorders and learning delays (preferred)
• Must possess strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, stand or sit for extended periods, and lift up to 25 pounds regularly and 40 pounds occasionally
• Ability to see, hear, understand speech, and follow instructions

Job Description:

Caseload and classroom type will vary by school location. Recruitment Specialists will discuss details upon application to match you with a suitable position. Contract duration is through the 2025/2026 school year, with a 37.5 to 40-hour workweek following the academic calendar.

As a Special Education Teacher, you will:

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and programs tailored to students’ needs
• Adapt curriculum based on IEPs and diverse learning styles
• Communicate regularly with parents and collaborate on strategies
• Create a safe, organized, and positive learning environment
• Manage behavior and ensure a productive classroom
• Provide individualized and group instruction with specialized techniques
• Assess and track student progress, adjusting instruction as needed
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with regulations
• Collaborate with educators and specialists
• Engage in ongoing professional development

Salary:

$1,687.00 – $1,762.50/week, DOE and location
