the Senior Pastor

Little Falls seeks a pastor to build on our strong sense of community by fostering meaningful connection and engagement among members and visitors of all ages and familial statuses, with a special focus on welcoming and integrating families into the life of the church. We are blessed with a small but dedicated group of volunteers who faithfully support our ministries, and past ministers consistently note the encouragement they receive from our congregation and the healthy, drama-free environment that makes serving here a joy.

Understanding the pressures of suburban life, where time is limited and schedules are full, we also aim to provide educational programming that inspires members and visitors to engage in biblical learning beyond the weekly sermon. We seek a spiritually grounded leader with creative energy to design educational experiences that are engaging, relevant, and spiritually nourishing for the congregation, visitors, and the larger community.

The

Senior Pastor’s responsibilities include:
  • Be the spiritual leader of Little Falls, encouraging the congregation to grow in relationship with God, one another, and the wider community.
  • Support a vibrant Christian education program that engages all ages within the congregation as well as the community at large.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Worship to plan and lead meaningful Sunday morning services and other special activities.
  • Prepare and deliver weekly sermons that are biblically grounded, inspiring, challenging, and equips the congregation to live out their faith with intention.
Pastoral Care
  • Provide compassionate care through home and hospital visits, counseling, and support for those experiencing life challenges.
  • Officiate baptisms, weddings, and funerals for members, offering personal guidance and support during these significant moments.
  • Grow membership through bridge building with the community, outreach and connection, particularly among families with children.
  • Collaborate with church leadership to provide vision and direction for the church’s mission efforts, Christian education programs, and other ministries.
  • Develops and engages our laity in leadership.
Governance & Administration
  • Provide leadership and direction as head of staff.
  • Moderate Session meetings. Educate elders in church polity and congregational leadership.
  • Attend committee and board meetings to assess progress and provide guidance.

  • Ordained (or ready for ordination) as a minister of the Word and Sacrament in the PC(USA).

  • Caring shepherd who provides compassionate pastoral care and counseling.
  • Collaborative leader who guides staff, elders, and volunteers with wisdom and vision.
