The AES Operations team is looking for a Solar Technician II. This position will cover assigned O&M activities associated with the solar PV sites and substations associated with the utility‑scale Solar Energy Plants located in Missouri. This individual would play a pivotal role in ensuring that AES CE operates the portfolio to standards that exceed industry best‑practice. The ideal candidate will be a self‑starter, and have the ability to build, train and lead other field personnel.

This role will work on our Morris Solar works project (the address of the site is US Hwy 63 and County Road 361 C, Kirksville, Missouri 63501). The candidate must be able to commute daily to the site.
Responsibilities- Perform maintenance and operations for solar PV sites and substations.
- Handle corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance.
- Work with equipment like Sun Grow 4400, Sun Grow 3600, Soltec Trackers high/medium/low voltage switching.
- Prepare and implement switching and clearance orders.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards.
- Work independently or in teams.
- Experience with electrical/construction projects and basic IT equipment.
- Knowledge of workplace safety and ability to follow and improve safety standards.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a diverse organization.
- Problem‑solving skills and proactive attitude.
- Technical proficiency with standard business software.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.
- 2‑year technical degree or equivalent Journeyman qualifications (preferred).
- 3+ years as a PV O&M solar technician.
- 5+ years in a power plant, with 1+ year in PV Solar O&M or construction.
- Knowledge of electrical or mechanical fundamentals.
