Advanced Manufacturing Engineer

This role is responsible for leading the introduction and ramp‑up of new contract manufacturing (CM) sites and production capabilities in support of New Product Introduction (NPI) programs. The engineer will manage the manufacturing readiness process with external partners, defining production requirements, validating process capability, and ensuring a successful transition from prototype to full production. Strong industrial engineering experience is required to assess process efficiency, optimize workflow, and align with quality, cost, and schedule objectives.

• Introduce, develop, and establish new contract manufacturing locations and production capabilities.
• Execute NPI tasks related to design and launch of new manufacturing production capabilities.
• Own the relationship and direction with CMs, providing inputs and driving progress to meet project deliverables.
• Coordinate prototype manufacturing activities including prototyping, purchasing/logistics, schedule, and budget.
• Create and maintain AME deliverables such as PFD, PFMEA, QCP, and manufacturing BOMs.
• Participate in design reviews and DFA/DFM reviews to influence design for manufacturability.
• Liaise between contract manufacturer, engineering, and procurement when developing component packaging requirements.
• Develop and track manufacturing KPIs to support company goals and initiatives.
• Support cost reduction and quality targets.
• Travel expectation 25‑90% depending on production maturity; possible international travel.
• Other tasks as necessary at the discretion of AME Project Manager or AME Management.

• Broad and deep experience within industrial engineering and manufacturing in an OEM or Tier I supplier community.
• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or process engineering role.
• Experience driving automation solutions for metal fabrication and component integration.
• Hands‑on experience in a high volume, low‑mix production environment.
• Experience in a manufacturing NPI role preferred.
• Knowledge of manufacturing metrics such as OEE and yield; ability to establish and track KPIs.
• Knowledge of quality methods and requirements including APQP, ISO
  9001, TS16949, and global OEM development systems.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent education.
• Ability to travel to CM locations with little advanced notice.
