Senior PFAS Process Engineer

PFAS Process Lead

Serve in a seller‑doer role, growing opportunities and leading the execution of projects related to compliance with the proposed per‑ and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) regulations. Focus on applications of PFAS treatment and destruction technologies in drinking water, returning to other water‑related facilities as needed.

• Identify key client interests, drivers for projects, and potential new business prospects; define key client relationships as appropriate.
• Develop creative solutions and approaches to accommodate client goals and objectives.
• Lead business development or pursuit activities, including pre‑positioning meetings, proposal development, and client interviews.
• Attend and present on innovative PFAS treatment solutions at local, regional, and national conferences.
• Prepare scope of services and fee estimates for proposals, new contracts, and amendments.
• Serve as a technical advisor with deep understanding of PFAS regulations, rapid small‑scale column testing, pilot testing, breakthrough curve model development, and design and implementation of adsorption processes for PFAS treatment.
• Lead multiple projects and support multiple clients simultaneously, central point of contact for PFAS treatment questions and guidance.
• Deliver projects within established budget, schedule, and quality expectations.
• Apply advanced engineering techniques and problem solving independently.
• Coordinate with internal and external team members for successful project execution and ensure activities are completed on critical program paths.
• Review and manage the work of junior engineers and data scientists, actively mentor, and foster technical development; seek opportunities to develop future PFAS treatment experts.

Acts in capacity of a “lead person”; does not have management responsibility for the people to whom they provide work direction.

• Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctoral) in civil, environmental, or chemical engineering.
• 11 years of experience in drinking water treatment with at least 5 years in water quality and treatment or engineering management.
• Established leadership skills with deep understanding of consulting, project execution, client services, and business development.
• Strong communication skills with capacity for building and maintaining client relationships.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from a recognized accredited program in the applicant’s home country or the country in which the professional is practicing.
• Minimum of 11 years related work experience.
• Applicants must be able to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (e.g., criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search) in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Professional engineering license preferred from any U.S. state or ability to obtain one within 2 years of employment required.

Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance, and work assignments.
