CRE Finance Council – New York City Office Member Services and Accounting Specialist

CRE Finance Council (CREFC), a trade association dedicated to promoting the strength and liquidity of commercial real estate finance, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Member Services and Accounting Specialist in its New York City office.

The position will report to the COO and President & CEO and serves as primary point of contact for members, resolving inquiries related to event registrations, logins, invoices, credit card charges, and onboarding new members. This role manages end-to-end accounts receivables and accounts payables, including tracking receivables, processing payments in the Association Management Database (iMIS) for memberships, sponsor ships, and events, invoicing conference sponsors, preparing annual dues billing and revenue reports, processing PAC contributions, and coding invoices in  This role is responsible for maintaining accurate member and company data, managing company rosters and registrations, addressing email bounce-backs, and supporting the COO and external accountants by assembling audit backup and related documentation.

The candidate must be flexible, proactive, resourceful, efficient and maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Responsibilities Member Services
  • Serve as primary point of contact to assist with member inquiries
  • Assist Members with any issues related to event registration, login issues, invoices, credit card charges
  • Process and invoice new members throughout the year
Accounts Receivable
  • Track all incoming receivables
  • Process all payments in association membership database for membership, sponsorship and events
  • Reconcile revenue in accounting system
  • Invoice all conference sponsors
  • Prepare yearly membership invoices and maintain dues revenue reports
  • Develop a mechanism to track IP Royalty fee
  • Track, process, maintain and report on PAC contributions
Accounts Payable
  • Code all invoices
Data Entry
  • Update contact information in association management database
  • Manage company rosters
  • Process event registrations
  • Manage bounce backs from our email marketing system
Assist

COO and outside accounting firm on:
  • Assist in producing backup files for annual audit
On-site participation and support at all major CREFC conferences

Professional and Educational Background
  • 3-5 plus years of related experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Association experience, a plus.

  • Strong team player. Must work well with internal staff and be willing to assist in projects as needed.
  • Effective time management. Proven ability to simultaneously handle multiple assignments, prioritize and work within deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Excel and other MS Office products.
  • Working knowledge of accounting software, with the understanding of debit and credit adjustments
  • Ability to learn association management database.
