this Role
Rochdale Capital is seeking an experienced Senior Loan Officer to help advance its mission of expanding cooperative and community ownership and building assets in low-wealth communities. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through mission-driven lending while managing a diverse portfolio of loans across multiple sectors. In this position, you will evaluate lending opportunities and analyze financial performance to identify viable projects that align with the organization’s community development mission.
You will structure loan transactions, prepare comprehensive credit recommendations, and manage a portfolio of small business, nonprofit, commercial, affordable housing, and community development loans. Your work will involve leading loan underwriting activities, conducting rigorous credit risk assessments, and overseeing borrower relationship management. You will work closely with borrowers throughout the loan lifecycle, balancing the need for strong portfolio performance with the organization’s commitment to meaningful community impact.
This role requires collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure successful loan origination, underwriting, and portfolio management.
- Lead loan underwriting and credit analysis for small business, nonprofit, commercial, affordable housing, and community development loans
- Evaluate lending opportunities and assess their alignment with the organization’s mission and financial criteria
- Analyze borrower financial performance and prepare comprehensive financial analysis documentation
- Structure loan transactions and develop appropriate terms and conditions
- Prepare detailed credit recommendations for loan approval decisions
- Manage and oversee a portfolio of community development loans
- Conduct credit risk assessments to evaluate potential loan performance
- Manage borrower relationships throughout the complete loan lifecycle
- Present credit recommendations to loan committee or decision-makers
- Monitor portfolio performance and identify early warning indicators
- Ensure compliance with CDFI requirements and lending policies
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Community Development, Real Estate, or a related field
- 5 or more years of experience in commercial lending, underwriting, credit analysis, portfolio management, or community development finance
