Position Title: Physical Therapist Assistant, Inpatient PRN

Purpose & Scope:

A Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) is a technically educated individual who assists the physical therapist in providing selected interventions. Under the supervision of a physical therapist, the PTA's scope of practice includes patient management aimed at improving physical function, movement, performance, health, and overall well-being. The scope is influenced by professional, jurisdictional, and personal factors, and includes contributions to public health services.

The practice is governed by relevant laws and rules specific to the PTA's licensing jurisdiction.

Education:

Associate degree in physical therapy required.

Experience:

One year of physical therapy experience preferred.

Certification/Licensure:

Licensed as a Physical Therapy Assistant by the Virginia Department of Health Professions required.

BLS certification required.
