Event Planning Manager

The Event Planning Manager's primary focus is detailing, upselling, and servicing Group Sales bookings. This position acts as the liaison between clients meeting planners and the hotel team.

Primary efforts are in banquet food, beverage, meeting room rental, AV and includes menu planning, agenda setting, hotel meeting services, hospitality amenities, and special VIP requests. Duties also include administering the Sales agreement and facilitating communication before, during and post event with pertinent hotel staff to ensure a high level of service.

Event Planning Managers also host hotel tours, maintain strong customer relationships, participate and may lead event meetings, and other staff meetings, and work as a team member with the sales and catering staff. The manager also works closely with the sales coordinator and other support and hotel staff.

• A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment. Refined verbal and written communication skills
• A minimum of 1-3 years of hotel event sales/event planning or comparable experience preferred
• Must be proficient in general computer knowledge, Microsoft suite, hotel sales and event and Opera systems
• Candidates should be extremely detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment
• Prefer two years of event planning experience in a hotel required and experience and have completed an Event Planning Management trainee program
• Preferred candidate has completed PSS or equivalent training
