Job Description
Crown is searching for a Human Resources Manager to plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate policies, activities, and recruitment for a rapidly growing, multi‑state government contractor, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization’s mission and talent strategy. This position will be based 5 days a week at Crown’s headquarters office in Arlington, VA.
Responsibilities- Recruit talent, coordinate interviews with management and contract partners, and hire new staff, ensuring all clearances have been properly obtained.
- Identify staffing and recruiting needs; develop and execute best practices for hiring and talent management.
- Maintain a strong understanding of regulatory compliance with government contracting.
- Coordinate the company’s annual performance evaluations and pay increases.
- Manage annual benefit recompetes and current benefits plans, including the 401(k) plan.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to understand the organization’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
- Plan, lead, develop, coordinate, and implement policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization’s human resource compliance and strategy needs.
- Administer or oversee the administration of human resource programs including compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, productivity, recognition, morale, occupational health and safety, and training and development.
- Conduct research and analysis of organizational trends, reviewing reports and metrics from the organization’s HRIS or talent management system.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; recommend best practices and modify policies and practices accordingly for a multi‑state employer.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in HR, talent management, and employment law; communicate changes to upper management.
- Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
- Help facilitate professional development, training, and certification activities for employees.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- 5+ years of HR management experience, preferably in government contracting.
- Strong recruiting and onboarding experience.
- Proficient in ADP Workforce Now.
- SHRM‑CP, SHRM‑SCP, PHR, or SPHR highly preferred.
- Extensive ATS and recruiting experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time‑management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate appropriately.
- Thorough knowledge of employment‑related laws and regulations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
