RESPONSIBILITIES- Deeply understand what drives the business for which you are building software.
- Drive the design of highly performant and highly available data solutions.
- Build solutions that operate on massive amounts of data in high-transaction-volume applications.
- Tune database performance using tools like SQL Profiler and execution plans.
- Create and maintain Power BI dashboards.
- Maintain documentation for database structures, processes, and best practices.
- Work with QA resources to ensure that the software delivered is of the highest quality.
- Act as a key member of the product launch team and work closely with Dev Ops to resolve operational issues.
- Evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities, trends, and best practices that can strengthen CoStar’s technology platform and development practices.
- Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited, not for profit university or college.
- 4+ years of SQL database development experience.
- Demonstrable track record of building and launching successful products that leverage terabytes of data.
- Database design, T-SQL programming, performance tuning, and index analysis.
- Strong ability to analyze complex data sets and optimize queries.
- Define database architecture and development best practices.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., TFS).
- Experience in database performance testing and SQL code unit testing strategies and implementations.
- Experience with No
SQL databases (e.g., Elastic Search). - Familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Scripting knowledge (e.g., Power Shell, Python) for automation.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., Azure SQL, AWS RDS).
- Comfortable facilitating discussions among database developers to exchange ideas and introduce new database technologies.
- Strong communication skills with business and technical partners.
