Position: HIVE Support Engineer with Security Clearance
Blu Omega is seeking a HIVE Support Engineer to support a federal program. The HIVE Support Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day operational health of the Hive analytics environment, ensuring performance, stability, and reliability of the platform that supports FinCEN analytics. This role is technical and operational in nature, focused on system optimization, troubleshooting, and automation, rather than advanced software engineering.

Active Secret Responsibilities:
* Provide daily operational support for Hive environments.
* Monitor system performance, stability, and availability.
* Investigate and resolve Hive-related incidents and user issues.
* Optimize Hive performance through partitioning, indexing, and query tuning.
* Create and maintain Hive schemas, tables, and database objects.
* Perform routine system maintenance and upgrades.
* Build and maintain automated operational workflows.
* Support batch job monitoring and execution.
* Collaborate with analytics and engineering teams to resolve complex issues.
* Ensure Hive environments meet business and compliance requirements.

Qualifications:

* 3+ years of experience in data platform or analytics support roles.
* Strong experience with Apache Hive and HiveQL.
* Advanced SQL skills. Requested

Experience:

* Hive performance optimization
* Data partitioning and indexing
* Schema design and data modeling
* Experience building automated workflows using:
* Python
* Shell scripting (or similar)
* Working knowledge of the Hadoop ecosystem, including:
* HDFS
* YARN
* Map Reduce
* Spark Nice to Have:
* Experience with other big data tools and platforms such as Presto, Hive-on-Spark, or Impala.
* Familiarity with cloud environments like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
* Knowledge of security and data governance policies for federal agencies.
* Prior experience working on federal government projects or with compliance standards such as FISMA or FedRAMP.
