Mid-Level BI Developer

Overview

Nakupuna Prime is looking for a BI Developer to serve as the expert for analytics and presentation layers, transforming complex integrated data into intuitive, actionable visualizations to support leadership decision‑making and self‑service analytics. This mid‑level role is expected to execute independently on defined work and partner with senior technical staff on complex deliverables. The effort supports the United States Naval Community College (USNCC).

• Design, develop, and deploy interactive reports and dashboards using Salesforce CRM Analytics, Power BI, and Tableau Cloud.
• Integrate, transform, and validate data from Salesforce Education Cloud, flat files, and AWS Redshift/Postgre
  
  SQL to construct unified analytical datasets.
• Develop and maintain advanced formulas, expressions, and calculated fields within BI tools to support complex reporting needs.
• Implement validation checks at the presentation layer to ensure reporting is accurate, consistent, and traceable to source data prior to release.
• Optimize dashboard loading times and refresh schedules to sustain responsive end‑user interaction.
• Ensure dashboards are 508‑compliant and meet usability and accessibility expectations.

• Hands‑on experience building and maintaining dashboards and reports in Salesforce CRM Analytics, Power BI, and/or Tableau.
• Working knowledge of data modeling concepts and KPI definitions; ability to translate business needs into analytics requirements.
• Proficiency in SQL to validate and troubleshoot data used in dashboards and reports.
• Ability to perform presentation‑layer validation and reconcile reporting outputs to source systems.
• Knowledge of 508 compliance principles and ability to apply accessibility best practices.

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related quantitative field. Desirable levels of experience include:

• 5+ years of BI/Visualization development experience.
• Proficiency in Salesforce Education Cloud, Tableau, and Power BI.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with AWS Redshift/Postgre
  
  SQL.
• Ability to create 508‑compliant visualizations.
• Experience collaborating with data engineering and analytics teams in an enterprise environment.

This position requires access to military installations. Must be able to qualify for and obtain base access and pass a background check. Must be a U.S. citizen.

This position is hybrid. Work will be done on site at least three (3) days a week in Arlington, VA. Remote candidates will be considered. Occasional travel may be required.
