Senior Platform Engineer DevOps

SNI Technology is seeking a Principal/Lead-level Engineer to join our client’s Core Engineering team as a strategic advocate and technical architect.

This is a senior role focused on establishing the future state of our client’s multi-cloud infrastructure, ensuring governance, security, and exceptional developer experience (DX) for all engineering teams.

This is a HYBRID role with 4 days per week on-site in Arlington, VA REQUIRED.
Target Compensation Range: $145-$170k

Responsibilities:

• Cloud Architecture & Governance: Serve as the central Cloud Advocate, driving the adoption of standardized architecture, security guardrails, and cost-optimized solutions across our client’s AWS public cloud environment.
• Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) Leadership: Lead the design, development, and maintenance of reusable, self-service infrastructure modules using Terraform and Cloud Formation.
• Dev Sec Ops  & Compliance: Architect and enforce “shift-left” security controls within our client’s Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, embedding compliance and risk mitigation from the start.
• Container Orchestration: Define and manage the architecture for containerized applications, focusing on scalable and resilient deployment on Kubernetes (K8s).
• Automation & Enablement: Develop robust, automated delivery methodologies and provide hands‑on consultation and mentorship to internal development teams on best practices for cloud consumption and service integration.
• CI/CD Pipeline Standardization: Standardize and optimize deployment workflows using advanced pipeline tools, with specific expertise in Git Lab CI/CD.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 10 years of progressive experience in Dev Ops, Cloud Engineering, or Infrastructure Architecture, with a proven track record in a Senior or Lead capacity.
• Core Cloud: Deep, demonstrated expertise in AWS services and architecture.
• Orchestration: Expert‑level proficiency in Kubernetes (K8s) operations, deployment, and governance.
• Automation & IaC: Mandatory, hands‑on experience designing and deploying production infrastructure using Terraform and Cloud Formation.
• Security: Strong background in Dev Sec Ops  practices, security automation, and implementing compliance controls in CI/CD pipelines.
• CI/CD: Expertise in pipeline configuration and management, specifically Git Lab CI/CD.
• Scripting: Proficiency in at least one modern language for automation and tooling, such as Python or JavaScript.
• Soft Skills: Proven ability to act as a mentor, consultant, and effective communicator, capable of driving consensus across diverse engineering and product teams.
