PositionService & Delivery Technician III – Safeway – McLean, VA (Hybrid – Remote & On‑Site)
Signed bonus: $2,000.
What You Will Be DoingAs a Service & Delivery Technician III, you will support retail stores and backstage facilities across the Safeway network. Your key responsibilities include repairing and deploying a wide range of hardware and software, troubleshooting and providing remote support, and ensuring high service level agreements are met.
Main Responsibilities- Support standard hardware platforms and systems installed throughout Safeway plants, distribution centers, district offices, and retail locations.
- Repair all approved standard technology hardware, including PC/server hardware, network hardware, multi‑function printers, scales, iPads, eCommerce picking devices, and self‑checkout & point‑of‑sale equipment.
- Provide network and remote connectivity (hardware/software) support.
- Install new hardware and software.
- Provide IT support to customers and meet service level agreement goals.
- Interface with all corporate IT groups for on‑site support and technology resolutions.
- Adhere to repair standards and service levels established.
- High school graduate; AA/AS/BA/BS degree preferred or 3+ years of technical/training/hardware certifications preferred.
- 5+ years of technical systems experience with 2+ years of technical support preferred.
- 2+ years of retail business experience preferred.
- Experience with retail store systems, technology systems, and hardware preferred.
- Experience with installation and configuration of desktop and peripheral technology preferred.
- Excellent telephone, customer service and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of IT hardware, installation models, Windows, MS Office, and related applications.
- Knowledge of iOS and Android.
- Self‑checkout experience preferred.
- Ability to follow written/verbal instructions and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate in a matrixed organization.
- Mechanically inclined; can lift up to 50 pounds and perform equipment installations.
- Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record; owns a vehicle.
- Flexible to work a variety of shifts, including day, evening, overnight, and on‑call support.
