• Anaylzes, administers, and maintains telecommunications and network cabling infrastructure.
• Assigns tasks by Coordinators related to service orders and repair activities for Category 6 cabling, VoIP, and fiber optics.
• Dresses, terminates, and tests cables and components; works with power tools and ladders.
• Computer literate with basic networking skills; communicates effectively with supervisors and colleagues.
• Interprets service orders, circuit diagrams, and electrical schematics.
• Tests, locates, installs, and repairs cabling infrastructure associated with trouble calls; performs routine maintenance.
• Verifies work order information and receipt of necessary equipment.
• Verifies service by testing installed cabling; identifies, corrects, or escalates problems.
• Uses network cabling test equipment such as network testers, copper cable testers, fiber OTDRs, and power meters.
• Documents network by labeling and routing equipment and cables; records configuration diagrams and specifications.
• Maintains network by troubleshooting outages, testing backup procedures, and updating documentation.
• Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies.
• Participates in special projects as required.
• Identifies, tracks, and removes abandoned cable; keeps cable neatly tied and bundled while maintaining safety standards.

• Active DoD Top Secret clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline or equivalent education, training, or experience.
• 3–5 years of related telecommunications experience.
• Familiar with TIA/EIA standards and BICSI recommendations on cabling infrastructure.
• Experience as a MAC Technician – moves, adds, and changes in cabling infrastructure, primarily for VIP in the DC Metro area.
• Strong communication, customer‑support, problem‑analysis, and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
• Willingness to work after hours when needed (typically 2–5 hours per calendar year).
• Valid driver’s license to operate a government vehicle from the fleet.
• Onsite location at the Pentagon, Arlington, VA.
