Senior Manager IT

We are looking for an experienced, result-driven Senior Manager of IT Infrastructure to lead and manage our Systems and Networking teams. This role is critical in ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of our IT infrastructure while driving operational excellence and supporting strategic business objectives.

Preferred within driving distance to Pensacola FL, San Antonio TX, Middle River MD, or HQ Arlington, VA.

• Strategic Leadership
  • Execute a forward‑looking IT infrastructure strategy in collaboration with executive leadership.
  • Align IT operations with business objectives, ensuring agility, innovation, and operational excellence.
  • Drive innovation by identifying emerging trends and evaluating their impact on our organization.
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and consistently improve standard operating procedures in compliance with all global IT policies.
  • Run weekly IT Steering Committee meetings and quarterly planning meetings to ensure the alignment of IT resources and activities with business priorities.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust infrastructure technology stacks.
  • Ensure scalability, reliability, and security of systems, networks, and cloud platforms.
• Execute the Cloud Strategy and Roadmap, leveraging expertise in cloud services (such as AWS and Microsoft Azure) to optimize our infrastructure.
• Lead incident response and root cause analysis for critical infrastructure issues.
• Lead the delivery of infrastructure services across STENA business units and collaborate with global IT teams to ensure consistent service levels and operational excellence.
• Monitor performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
• Work with IT Security Ops and IT GRC to implement and manage a robust cybersecurity framework to protect systems and data in compliance with global policies.
• Safeguard systems, data, and intellectual property from cyber threats.
• Implement security controls and track vulnerability management on an ongoing basis.
• Possess in-depth knowledge of Networking, Firewall, Microsoft Windows related services, Microsoft 365 services, and Cybersecurity tools.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices, emerging technologies, and security trends.
• Develop and manage operational and capital expenditure budgets for IT projects, optimize resource allocation, evaluate ROI, build and lead a high‑performing IT operations team, foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation, mentor and develop team members, and build strong partnerships across STENA and ST Engineering.

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems management, computer science, engineering, or related field required; a combination of education and experience may also be considered. Advanced degree a plus.
• Minimum ten (7+) years of progressive leadership in IT infrastructure and network operations.
• Proven experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), data center consolidation, and cloud migration.
• Strong experience with data center networks, WAN/SDWAN, wireless and remote secure network access platforms, firewalls required.
