Position Overview

The Service Now Developer will support the implementation, customization, and ongoing enhancement of the Service Now platform. This role serves as a technical advisor to stakeholders and leadership, ensuring Service Now solutions align with IT Service Management (ITSM) best practices and organizational objectives. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and supporting Service Now applications while ensuring system stability, scalability, and usability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Configure, customize, and maintain the Service Now platform, including workflows, business rules, UI policies, and automation scripts.
  • Design and develop Service Now application solutions based on conceptual and functional requirements.
  • Provide Service Now platform development, administration, documentation, and technical support.
  • Develop and maintain integrations between Service Now and external systems using REST/SOAP APIs.
  • Support migration of existing on-premise or web-based solutions to the Service Now platform.
  • Develop user-friendly custom web forms, workflows, and interfaces within Service Now.
  • Create test plans, perform unit, system, and integration testing, and support deployment activities.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and perform root cause analysis for Service Now issues.
  • Communicate Service Now capabilities, processes, and operational impacts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for Service Now utilization, enhancements, and best practices.
Technical Experience & Knowledge
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience developing, implementing, administering, and configuring Service Now or equivalent ITSM platforms.
  • Strong working knowledge of Service Now modules, including:
  • Change Management
  • Service Desk
  • Asset Management
  • Knowledge Management
  • Service Request Management
  • Experience with database design, development, and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with ITIL framework and IT Service Management best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Service Now Certified Application Developer certification.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
  • Knowledge of additional programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and operational excellence.
  • Self-motivated with a passion for continuous learning and improvement.
  • Effective collaborator who can work independently and as part of a team.
