Position: Cable Technician with Security Clearance
Responsibilities & Qualifications RESPONSIBILITIES
* Familiar with BICSI rules, regulations, and standards.
* Knowledge in the use of network cabling test equipment including network testers, copper cable testers, fiber OTDRs and fiber power meters.
* Analyze, administer, and maintain telecommunications and network cabling infrastructure.
* Ensure the baseline configuration of all network assets and point-to-point circuits, are documented, and configured according to DoD and JSP engineering standards.
* Ensure all systems are properly baselined, tested, and validated in accordance with DISA's STIG prior to deployment.
* Conduct regular audits and quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of network assets and configurations.
* Use cable testing equipment, such as cable testers, multimeters, and optical power meters.
* Familiarity with cable management techniques to ensure neat and organized cable runs.
* Provide a basic understanding of IP networking concepts, including TCP/IP, subnetting, and VLANs.
* Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
* Analyze, administer, and maintain telecommunications and network cabling infrastructure.
* Dress, terminate, and test cables and components.
* Ability to work with power tools and ladders.
* Test, locate, install, and repair cabling infrastructure associated with trouble calls, and perform routine maintenance.
* Install, maintain, and repair voice and data communications systems.
* Identify, track, and remove abandoned cable, and keep cable neatly tied and bundled while maintaining safety standards. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

* 2-4 Years Experience

* Certifications:

* Data Cabling Installer (DCI) certification
* Fiber Optics Installer (FOIC) certification
* Clearance:
