Position: Legal Assistant/Paralegal

Reports To: Associate General Counsel

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing day-to-day legal support for the content legal team in connection with cable affiliation, retransmission consent, and original content negotiations and drafting
• Assisting with drafting of agreements, such as cable affiliation agreements, new media agreements, digital content licensing agreements, local sporting event agreements, letter agreements, etc.
• Researching and summarizing provisions in content licensing agreements
• Maintaining physical contract files and electronic database
• Interfacing with personnel in key parts of Verizon organization, including content acquisition team, finance and network operations
• Developing presentations using PowerPoint, Excel and Word and preparing and updating of applicable meeting materials
• Other paralegal duties as required

Qualifications/

Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree with strong academic performance required
• Paralegal certificate
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Power Point
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a paralegal supporting transactional work
• Requires excellent file management and organizational skills
• Requires strong written and oral communication skills and strong attention to detail
• Strong preference for candidates with knowledge of cable and entertainment industry
