OverviewWe are recruiting for a Senior Project Manager to lead and work as a member of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Information Technology Directorate (ITD) Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) Tech Refresh project management team. The Senior Project Manager will oversee purchasing, transportation, inventory, warehousing, and disbursement of material in support of technology installation teams. A successful candidate will be responsive, have excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and listening), be a team player, promote consensus, embrace learning, and be a consummate problem solver.
He/she will thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, have a positive can-do attitude, and be confident in analyzing processes and sharing suggestions for improvement.

- Responsible for the professionalism, timeliness, and quality of all contract requirements
- Develops full scale project plan and ensures the project is delivered on-time, within scope and budget. Ensures the accuracy, timeliness, and completion of all tasks assigned under this project
- Leading team in the development and overall implementation of a Program Management Plan, Financial Management Plan, Workforce/Staffing Plan, and Customer-Facing Deliverables
- Developing and delivering Monthly Status Reports and Project Status Reviews (PSR) to include status briefings/metrics regarding project progress for Nakupuna and DARPA ITD Leadership
- Managing resources for project execution
- Communicating with senior client personnel to prioritize requirements and execute tasks
- Providing direction and support to project management and technical implementation teams
- Performing personnel management functions (e.g., performance management and assessment, mentoring, counseling, recruitment, hiring and firing, time and attendance, leave approval, etc.). Motivates the project team, inspiring delivery of outstanding client outcomes and achievement of company quality standards
- Meeting financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing budget, analyzing expenditures, and implementing corrective actions. Keeping Nakupuna Leadership abreast of project execution, and any issues of potential impact to achievement of client requirements/deliverables, or requirements exceeding defined scope of work
- Ensuring alignment of project execution activities with established company organizational, accounting and finance, human resource management and contracting processes and procedures
- Overseeing and reporting to the Facilities and Infrastructure Support Services Managing Director on project performance and financial outcomes, including metrics such as profit margin, utilization, and cost execution
- Ensuring invoices are accurate and approved in a timely fashion
- Collaborating with Nakupuna Shared Services to ensure projects are properly supported.
- Ensuring innovative best practices are shared across projects. Drive performance improvements and process/cost efficiencies
- Leading and growing people – identify key performers and ensure Nakupuna facilitates their professional growth
- Rewarding and acknowledging excellent performance across projects
- Executing end-to-end performance management across projects. As appropriate, set performance goals, assess performance, provide coaching/mentoring, address performance and/or conduct issues as they arise (recommend disciplinary actions), and make/advocate compensation decisions
- Actively engaging in hiring processes, ensuring project(s) is appropriately staffed to meet client expectations
