What we're looking for

We are looking for a TIG Welder who will be responsible for laying out, fitting, cutting, and welding fabricated components to assemble structural forms such as machinery frames and shelving, by performing the duties below.

What you'll be responsible for in this role

• Cuts aluminum or plastic into various lengths according to work order; may use radial saw, miter saw.
• Deburr aluminum using an electric sander.
• Shapes edges of aluminum according to work order specifications using a punch press.
• Punches holes on plastic or aluminum according to specifications on the work order using various punch presses.
• Ability to TIG and MIG weld thin aluminum extrusions.
• Maintain an orderly and safe work area per company procedures.
• Read and interpret work orders, documents, drawings, and procedures.
• Develop prototype samples as needed to support engineering projects.

Basic qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• One-year certificate from college or technical school or related experience.
• Two years of related experience and/or training equivalent.

Additional job requirements

• Productivity: support output of 140+ frames per 8-hour shift (1 welder).
• Pass internal welding certification test.

Preferred qualifications

• 2 years of manufacturing experience (preferred).

• Understanding of 6S and basic math skills.
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform calculations with decimals and fractions; interpret drawings or specifications.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; work in a standing, walking, or seated position as required.
• Ability to reach with arms and hands; bend, kneel, crouch, and crawl as needed; vision and hearing abilities as required.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment and be team-oriented, flexible, and adaptable.
