Job  | Amazon Data Services, Inc. AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We keep the cloud running and support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure customers have continual access to the innovations they rely on. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to deliver high standards for safety and security while providing scalable capacity at low cost. • Operate and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment within the data center, including mechanical and emergency systems, fire/life safety equipment, and related infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs.
• Perform limited maintenance tasks, including filter changes, HVAC PMs, rack power installs, rack PDU and rack ATS replacements.
• Provide support to Data Center Operations technicians.
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures.
• Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work.
• Work a 12 hour shift (rotating 3 and 4 day work weeks, days or nights).
• Take daily operational readings of mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds/logs (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.).
• Utilize internal CMMS to manage building workflows and spare part inventory.
• Supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance.
• Respond to off-hour emergency calls per on-call rotation for any one of the region’s sites.
• Fully comply with all physical security procedures and policies.
• Drive innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities.
• Manipulate small wires and objects.
• Perform the following tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation: walk job sites on uneven terrain; work in extreme climates; work at heights and from ladders; regularly lift and/or move up to 39 pounds; participate in group lifts for 40 pounds or more; bend or twist the body into unusual positions while working; push or pull heavy objects into position; work in noisy environments.

• 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience, or 1+ years of data center or mission critical facilities experience (e.g., hospital, military facility, public safety facility, etc.).
• High school or equivalent diploma.
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above.

• 4+ years of data center engineering experience.
• Electrical or mechanical journeyman license.
• NFPA 70E Certification.
• CFC license (Universal or minimum Type II).

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $59,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $133,200/year in our highest geographic market.
