American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with a Level II trauma center background and an active VA or Compact RN license in hand.

• Operating Room unit in a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule working 4x10-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• On-call requirement of 3-4 call shifts every 6 weeks, 8 hours each
• Uses Epic OpTime (OR) charting system
• Floating may be required in rotation with client staff per facility policy and Joint Commission standards
• On-call responsibilities for certain specialty areas require residing within 30 miles or 30 minutes of the facility

• Active VA or Compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required
• Level II Trauma center experience preferred, including trauma, neuro, and ortho spine cases
• Ortho skills preferred
• Epic experience preferred, with training provided based on recency and duration of prior experience

• Facility is smoke and nicotine free
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31) unless a qualifying exemption is approved
• Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or have an approved exemption
• All travelers must attend either an accelerated or 2-day Epic training class, unless previously at the facility within the past 6 months
• Up to 7 hours of non-billable training modules required during orientation, varying by specialty
• Some holiday coverage expected, with RTO approved at manager discretion and minimal time-off requests preferred during the assignment
• Previous staff members of this facility must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers are not considered for this role
