Mobile Imaging Veterinarian and Outpatient Manager – MiVU – Vienna, Virginia

Mission Pet Health’s Mobile Imaging Veterinary Ultrasound (MiVU) seeks an experienced veterinarian to manage and perform diagnostic ultrasound services at our outpatient facility in Vienna, VA, while also providing additional mobile imaging throughout the DMV region.

Responsibilities
  • Manage daily operations and conduct ultrasounds at MiVU’s outpatient facility on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  • Communicate findings to referring veterinarians and, when necessary, to pet owners.
  • Administer light sedation as needed (DEA license required).
  • Perform mobile ultrasound exams (abdominal, thoracic, pregnancy confirmation, fetal viability, parathyroid and thyroid assessment, cryptorchidism, ocular, and general health screens) on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
  • Use echocardiography to assess cardiac pathology.
  • Conduct ultrasound‑guided fluid cavity centesis and guided biopsies (trucut core 14ga and fine‑needle).
  • Prepare accurate, detailed medical reports.
Qualifications
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university.
  • Minimum five years of veterinary clinical experience.
  • Prior ultrasound experience is required; preference for candidates able to complete a full abdominal scan per ACVR Ultrasound consensus statement.
  • DEA license.
Training Support
  • On‑job training from MiVU veterinarians for up to four months.
  • Additional training and support from SVP internists, radiologists, and cardiologists.
  • Continuing education courses.
Physical Demands
  • Sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects up to 40 pounds without assistance.
  • Meet vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Operate computer and other machinery.

Sitting may occur up to 3 hours per day in a vehicle. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities.
