Retail Assistant Store Manager

$18.00 to $21.00 per hour. Commission structure: up to 8% on transactions, which could average an additional $10.73 per hour on top of hourly rate.

Position Summary

We are seeking an Assistant Store Manager with a minimum of six months of management/third‑key experience. Accountable for day‑to‑day operations, partner with the Store Manager to lead and develop store employees, recruit and retain top talent, maximize financial goals, and manage customer relations. The role includes analyzing store financial statements, committing to asset protection, promoting the business, and targeting new customer acquisitions across a wide variety of products.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate a customer‑centric environment by engaging customers and rapidly addressing issues.
  • Monitor and assist in training Pawnbrokers to meet First Cash standards.
  • Recruit top talent using company‑prescribed channels.
  • Open and close the store, count cash drawers and merchandise, and ensure all procedures protect assets.
  • Ensure asset protection through inventory control, property safety, documentation, and securing customer loans.
  • Administer store processes: inventory, loan management, merchandising, store presentation and systems, and enterprise reporting.
  • Evaluate financial statements and drive profitability.
  • Ensure operating standards meet or exceed First Cash standards.
  • Monitor loan qualification and buying processes for value and integrity.
  • Complete assigned tasks and training for self‑development.
  • Communicate clearly with employees about mission and profit objectives.
  • Stay up‑to‑date on product knowledge.
  • Act as manager on duty in absence of Store Manager.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • Willing and able to perform duties for extended periods (standing, stooping, walking, etc.) and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise others effectively.
  • Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
  • Potential to assist customers on parking lot or exterior storage sites.
  • Minimum age: 18.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Flexible to work multiple locations as business needs.
  • Flexible retail schedule; including weekends and holidays.
  • Assistant Store Managers will work 40+ hours/week; hours not guaranteed.
  • Computer literate; operate POS systems and office machines.
  • Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Cash handling experience required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent work ethic and strong business sense.

Commission Plan Information

Assistant Store Managers have the potential to earn 2–8% commission based on gross profit of personal performance. More details provided during interview.
